Aetna Back to Playing Nice with Texas Medicare Supplement Brokers

Aetna sent out a blast email to the agents marketing senior Texas Medicare Supplement plans on Friday! Yea, Aetna is back in the game… All great, Right? Wrong. Sorry, they wont be a player. Here’s why.

I downloaded and ran their new rates, very disappointed and only a fool of an agent would sell them. Their rates are running some $30 to $50 a month higher. That just wont work. Texas Medicare Supplement plans are all the same and operate under very stringent rules as set up by the federal and state government. This is to ensure benefits are the exact same and claims get paid, with that the goal of every agent or broker should be to provide the lowest cost plan. Period.

So, my view is until such time as Aetna comes more in line with the market like Mutual of Omaha company United of Omaha or Gerber Life they will never be sold by me in our great state. If that ever changes I will be the first to provide my clients with their products.
